"School is out, and children are on vacation.  Many of these children will be near water. Every year children die or are injured because they do not know how to swim," says Southwest Florida Swimming Accidents Attorney, Randall Spivey of Spivey Law Firm, Personal Injury Attorneys, P.A.

The CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) issued a Call to Action Wednesday, May 22, 2013: Teach All Children How to Swim and Put a Fence Around All Pools.

The report revealed that "children younger than age 5 represent more than 75% of all pool and spa submersion deaths and 78% of pool and spa submersion injuries in the United States involve children younger than 15."

In the CPSC press release Chairperson, Inez Tenenbaum, said, "The lives of countless children can be saved this summer.  Take simple safety steps today - teach all children to swim, put a fence around all pools, and always watch children in and around the water."

Teach Children How to Swim"Learning how to swim saves lives," said Suzy DeFrancis, Chief Public Affairs Officer for the American Red Cross.
