Hit and Run Accidents On Florida's Waterways

  Hit and run accidents are frequently in the news and are often about vehicle accidents. However, these accidents also happen on our waterways. NBC-2 reported, after a May 29, 2016 Cape Coral boat crash, that authorities were investigating an accident where two juveniles were fishing when a speeding boat hit their boat near the Cape Coral Yacht Club. The boat causing the accident left the scene.

Recent Fatal Boat Accident Still Under Investigation

According to the Sun Sentinel, a 24-year-old man was killed when the boat on which he was riding hit a concrete dock located along the Intracoastal Waterway. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on a Saturday in late May, and two other passengers onboard the boat were hurt and taken to Broward Health Medical Center.
