On March 2, 2015, 60 Minutes reporter Anderson Cooper covered the story of the high levels of formaldehyde in Chinese-made laminate flooring sold by Lumber Liquidators. Undercover investigators for 60 Minutes found that three Chinese manufacturers had excessive formaldehyde in the glue which binds the wood particles which make up the core of the laminate boards. Mr. Cooper reported that 100 million square feet of laminate flooring is installed in U.S. homes every year.
