May 18, 2020 | Category: Florida News Alerts | Share

Cape Coral, FL (May 17, 2020) The Cape Coral Police Department (CCPD) reported that a crash happened at the intersection of  Del Prado Blvd. and SE 32nd Street Sunday afternoon, around 2:15. They believe the crash may be the result of street racing.

Michael Cuellar sustained life-threatening injuries when Victoria Hunt, driving a 2019 Subaru Ascent, turned left into the path of Mr. Cuellar’s 2019 Honda Civic.

Mr. Cuellar swerved to avoid Ms. Hunt’s vehicle, but his front bumper slammed into the front right side bumper of the Subaru. Ms. Hunt’s car spun counter-clockwise and ended up on the sidewalk.

Mr. Cuellar’s car jumped the curb and continued going south before hitting an elevated parking lot.

According to the police report, Mr. Cuellar was taken to Lee Health Hospital in an ambulance with life-threatening injuries. Ms. Hunt suffered “non-incapacitating” injuries, and her passenger suffered minor injuries.

Alcohol and drugs were not considered a factor in the crash. An investigation is on-going to determine an at-fault vehicle, according to the police.

The CCPD is asking any witnesses to the crash to call CCPD at 239-574-3223, or to submit an anonymous tip at www.capecops.com/tips. You can also send them a message through their social media platforms or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS. Use Case Report #20-009009.
