Lehigh Acres, FL (May 10, 2020) Three cars were involved in a Lehigh Acres crash early Sunday evening.
A 24-year-old man, driving on Arizona Road, was approaching an intersection when the accident happened, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). A Lee County deputy, driving an agency car, was approaching the same intersection with his emergency equipment activated.
When the driver tried to make a left turn onto Alabama Road, the deputy was approaching, and he hit the deputy’s car. The driver then proceeded to hit another vehicle that was stopped. The Lee County deputy car sideswiped a mailbox before going into a Leigh Acres home’s yard, according to FHP.
The deputy suffered minor injuries. The 24-year-old was cited for driving with a suspended license, not having proof of insurance, and violating the right-of-way.
