Vehicles vs. Pedestrians - What Pedestrians Can Do To Protect Themselves

2013 saw several pedestrian accidents in southwest Florida.  In December, NBC-2 news reported on a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident on McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers.  

The NHTSA reports that in 2011 (latest available data) 69,000 pedestrians were injured and 4,432 were killed in the U.S. In an August 2013 press release, U.S. Transportation Secretary, Arnold Foxx announced that the FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) is launching a new campaign called "Everyone Is A Pedestrian" with a website which has safety tips and resources for local leaders, city planners, parents and others involved in improving pedestrian safety.  www.nhtsa.gov/everyoneisapedestrian
